Factors to be considered for an energy efficient industrial furnace

Since the industrial kiln has a set of function of heat generation, heat transfer and reaction, when selecting type of kiln  to meet the requirements of calcining products , some factors to be analyzed : heat energy source, heating method, heat transfer method and waste heat utilization and so on.

1. Heat energy source

In the silicate industry, fuel costs account for a large proportion of total production costs. If oil is used as fuel, the proportion of fuel costs in costs is even higher. Therefore, the choice of using what kind of fuel needs to be compared. First, choosing the fuel must be based on the national fuel policy. Second, the fuel selected should not only meet the process requirements of the manufactured product, but also require the proportion of the total cost as low as possible.

2. Heating method

When the products in the industrial furnace are fired, they are desirable to obtain uniform heating as much as possible. To this end, a variety of methods for uniform heating have been envisaged. There are four methods commonly used: internal heating, bottom heating, side heating and top heating.

3. Heat transfer method

Flame transfer: the flame enters the kiln directly for heat transfer;

Semi-flame heat transfer: part of the flame directly enters the kiln for heat transfer;

Heat transfer from flame to flame: The flame does not enter the kiln for heat transfer.

4. Waste heat utilization

The waste heat utilization of industrial kiln mainly refers to the use of the sensible heat of the exhausted combustion products and the sensible heat taken away by the heated product. The amount of heat taken by these sensible heats is large, and if it can be used well, its economic and social benefits are significant.
