1. Performance and thermal characteristics of the kiln. For furnaces that work intermittently, materials with low heat capacity should be used.

2, the safe usage temperature, thermal conductivity system, high temperature strength, and chemical stability of material.

3, the service life.

4. Investment costs and maintenance costs of operation.

In general, heavy refractory products are more focused on a certain technical performance index, such as high temperature stability, chemical stability, etc. Lightweight insulation materials pay more attention to the integrated technical and economic indicators of investment and operation.

When choosing lightweight insulation fireclay bricks, it is generally determined by the thermal conductivity (λ) of the insulation material and the cost per unit volume of insulation material (Ρ). The smaller the product value of “λΡ”, the better. The small thermal conductivity value indicates that the thermal insulation effect of the thermal insulation material is good, and the energy cost during operation is low. The low cost per unit volume of insulation material indicates low investment costs and good investment economics. It can be selected by coordinate plotting method. The abscissa is the working temperature and the ordinate is the product of (λΡ). The curve of each material is intercepted by the safe use temperature of the material, and the material with good technical and economic performance is selected.
